Camas resident Anthony Teso says illegal immigrants are protected by the U.S. Constitution

Do illegal immigrants have constitutional rights? Yes, immigrants are protected by the U.S. Constitution. Key provisions, such as due process and equal protection under the law, apply to all persons, including both documented and undocumented immigrants.
This means that all the rights granted to citizens in the U.S. Constitution are also given to immigrants. Key provisions, such as due process and equal protection under the law, apply to all persons, including both documented and undocumented immigrants.
We are protected from illegal search and seizure, and so are immigrants. We are accorded due process, so are immigrants; we have a right to an attorney, so are immigrants; we have a right to a hearing, so are immigrants. When we curtail one group’s rights we leave open the door to losing our rights too.

Mr. Anthony Teso, with respect, which constitution are you referring to? We are a nation of laws, federal, state, county and city. We are a sovereign nation with borders. What is the purpose of borders? To protect our citizens who swear allegiance to the USA, our Constitution. Aliens, people from other countries, who owe their allegiance to the country of their birth, not us, and when they violate our borders (do not enter legally) they do NOT have the protection of a US citizen. You made claims about their rights in the US, please name the document, section and amendment that proves you claim. These people that enter our country illegally are “illegal aliens” and have no Constitutional protections, that is why federal laws apply and they are deported. If they come here legally and claim asylum then they are assigned a federal judge who specializes in these claims to adjudicate their claim, while waiting they are in detention.
What is the benefit of being a citizen, if people illegally arrive here and are afforded the same protections? We have no future as a culture and country, if we don’t control our borders. Take your sympathy elsewhere. We’re tapped out, squeezed out and victimized out. Done.
If you read the constitution, it is clear that rights are not benefits of gaining US citizenship. With the exception of the right to VOTE, we are endowed by our CREATOR with certain inalienable rights…
So what we made here in this country is a government that recognizes these rights. That is different from a government that claims the god like power to BESTOW rights upon any favored people.
Later we created a socialist add on system that now draws millions to share. But also coming to a head right now, is the massive employment shift that will result from AI implementation.
The fact is we are not required to accept anyone in the country legally for any reason. It will always be on a need to have basis. The days of “just showing up” are long over. FDR rejecting the Jews on that ship that came from Europe clarified that, in case there was any doubt.
These two realities point to a new system of fascism. One that makes semi-slaves of the new immigrants. The right to stay here will be tied directly to their willingness to work for very low wages. Americans will have to compete by lowering their wage requirements, and the socialist minded will push for a universal basic income to “solve” the problem.
To avoid further manipulation by the elite, we need to acknowledge who is responsible for the border fiasco beyond the obvious “democrat” claim. This is another PROBLEM/REACTION/SOLUTION setup meant to drive us to do things we would never have considered before.
