Evacuation notices upgraded as Nakia Creek Fire escalates

Due to severe weather conditions over the past two days, fire activity in the area has increased

The Nakia Creek Fire in northeast Clark County has spread and as a result evacuation notices have been upgraded.

Clark Regional Emergency Services, on behalf of the Camas Police Department, reported Sunday afternoon that due to severe weather conditions over the past two days, fire activity in the area has increased. As a result, evacuation notices have been sent out and increased in the area of the L1500 and :1560 roads off Jones Creek Road.

• Anyone now within 3.5 miles of the fire are in a Level 3 GO NOW Evacuation Notice.

• Anyone within 4.5 miles of this fire are now in a Level 2 BE SET Evacuation Notice.

• Anyone within 5.5 miles of the fire are now in a Level 1 BE READY Evacuation Notice.

“Please Understand that this is a very dynamic situation and if you are anywhere near this area, you should take precautions to evacuate,’’ indicated the notice.
