The Clark County Charter Review Commission has scheduled a series of town hall meetings to get feedback from county residents. For District 5, which is north Clark County, the town hall is scheduled for 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 7, in the Moulton Falls Room, at the Battle Ground Event Center, 912 E Main St.

Peter Silliman
I will be there to present information on proposed amendments to the county’s charter, share the charter review and amendment process, seek feedback from town hall participants, and answer any questions related to the commission’s work.
You can provide written comments at the town hall, but you can also do that any time by going to the Commission’s website. https://clark.wa.gov/charter/charter-review-commission-2026-2027 There, you can also find a list of proposed amendments and their status
The commission doesn’t make any changes directly. Any changes to the charter recommended by the Charter Review Commission must go to a countywide vote in the general election. The people get the final say on any charter amendment. The review commission has set a target of Aug. 4, for submitting any potential amendments to the charter to the county Auditor for this year’s November general election.
Clark County’s home rule charter is the county’s constitution, or bylaws, for how its government is set up and how it operates. It defines roles, powers, elections and processes. It cannot override state and federal laws or their constitutions.
Fifteen commissioners were elected in November 2025 to serve on the Charter Review Commission. We are still meeting every Wednesday at 5 pm with both in person and online attendance welcome. If you want to attend in person, you can come to the sixth floor of the county’s Public Service Center, 1300 Franklin St. you can also go to the commission website for links to attend remotely.
Whatever your view, we hope to hear from you.
