Person of interest found dead in Oregon from apparent suicide
A woman has been found dead on a vacant property in Camas, and a person of interest related to the woman’s death was found dead in Oregon from an apparent suicide.
Several people viewing the large property with a real estate agent found the woman’s body on Sunday near NE Winters Road and NE 86th Street in Camas. A call to 911 led to a response from deputies from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office. Deputies determined the woman died of an apparent gunshot wound and called for the Major Crimes Unit for a homicide investigation.
MCU personnel interviewed area residents and collected evidence on scene. During the investigation, they identified a possible person of interest.
On Monday, MCU detectives learned that the person of interest was found dead in Oregon by what investigators believe was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The Clark County Major Crimes Union, with the assistance of several law enforcement departments in Oregon, are continuing with this active investigation. Law enforcement agencies said they will update this story when more information is available.
