Battle Ground’s dining scene is poised for an expansion of offerings with several eateries in the works.
From pancakes and donuts to burritos and ramen, Battle Ground residents have new eateries to look forward to as hiring efforts, permit activity, storefront signage and a new mixed-use development all point to continued growth in the local food scene.
IHOP

The most notable development centers on a new retail building near the Walmart Supercenter at 1101 SW Scotton Way, where an IHOP remains committed to opening despite months of online speculation that the national breakfast chain had abandoned its plans.
The restaurant chain appears to be preparing for its arrival. Job postings on Indeed advertise numerous positions for the future Battle Ground IHOP, as well as signage for the restaurant space being added to the retail building. An opening date has not yet been announced.
Prior to building signage, questions surrounding the project surfaced after a “for lease” sign appeared on the new building, leading many commenters on local Facebook pages to speculate that IHOP was no longer coming to Battle Ground. However, project documents and statements from those familiar with the development indicate otherwise.
The lease signage advertises approximately 2,800 square feet of available retail space. Marketing information from commercial real estate firm SRS lists 2,616 square feet available for lease at the location, matching the square footage originally proposed for a Super Chix restaurant in 2024 site plans. By comparison, the proposed IHOP occupies a separate 3,622-square-foot space within the building.
In April, a representative for the property’s owner confirmed on the record that IHOP remains committed to the Battle Ground location, while the proposed Super Chix restaurant is “up in the air.” The representative, who requested anonymity, added that the available retail space is being offered on a “first come, first serve” basis.
Further supporting IHOP’s plans, the leasing brochure for the available space identifies the vacancy as being co-located with a new IHOP that is currently under development, featuring IHOP branding throughout the marketing materials.
According to the original project narrative submitted to the city, the development includes 60 parking stalls, which have already been paved and striped, and is expected to generate an estimated 832 daily vehicle trips.
Camp Donut

Meanwhile, another new eatery appears to be preparing to open in Battle Ground Market Center.
Signage for Camp Donut recently appeared on Unit 111 in the shopping center anchored by Albertsons. The city issued commercial tenant improvement permits for the business in April, though exterior signs have only recently been installed.
As of this week, no official website, social media presence or public contact information for Camp Donut had been located by The Reflector.

Wingstop
Along Main Street, another national restaurant chain appears to be moving closer to opening.
A “Coming Soon” sign recently appeared at the future Wingstop location at 720 W. Main St., Suite 106, between Ichi Teriyaki and Palm Beach Tan.
The city issued commercial tenant improvement permits in May for the 1,391-square-foot interior remodel.
Architectural plans show a customer layout featuring a two-station ordering counter, self-service beverage station, indoor seating and a single restroom.
As Wingstop’s corporate website has not yet listed a Battle Ground location as “coming soon,” the restaurant’s opening date remains unannounced.
Muchas Gracias
Another restaurant project is also taking shape near Walmart.
Regional Mexican restaurant chain Muchas Gracias applied July 1 for commercial tenant improvement permits at 1218 SW Scotton Way, with the city issuing permits July 29.
Plans call for remodeling an existing 1,800-square-foot retail space in the Millcreek Town Center development. The location, in the same building as Chiro One Chiropractic and Wellness Center of Battle Ground, has remained vacant since the building was constructed in the 2010s.
The proposed restaurant includes partition walls, new service counters, suspended ceilings, new restrooms and use of an existing drive-thru. Architectural plans list an occupancy of 39 people and include two ADA-accessible restrooms.
West Main Commons tenants
The city’s new restaurant growth is expected to receive another boost from West Main Commons, a mixed-use development under construction at 1305 W. Main St.
According to Nick Stanton, property director with NAI Elliott, the retail center already has signed leases with Brewed Awakenings — who recently confirmed the location on social media, while another restaurant space has been leased to a ramen restaurant. Architectural renderings also illustrate a possible pizza restaurant at West Main Commons. The nearly 28,000-square-foot retail development still has remaining commercial space available, with leasing representatives actively seeking additional restaurant tenants.
“We’ve gotten several leases that are already signed with Brewed Awakenings, OnPoint Credit Union, Edward Jones, Barbie Lounge and a Ramen tenant,” Stanton previously told The Reflector. “We’ve got a couple of spaces remaining, so we’re looking for other restaurants, retail, or service-type uses.”
The development will include four retail buildings connected to a 225-unit apartment community by a public promenade. Stanton said the first retail spaces are expected to be delivered by the end of 2026, potentially bringing even more food and beverage businesses to Battle Ground’s west side.
