Adult women’s soccer club to play in Women’s Premier Soccer League
The Vancouver Victory, a women’s soccer club featuring college and former college players, is playing in a new league this summer
The club, in its seventh season, will play in the Women’s Premier Soccer League, along with clubs such as Seattle Reign 2 and the Portland Thorns 2. The Victory’s first home match is Sunday at Harmony Sports Complex in east Vancouver.
Maddy Wright, who guided Clark College to an 8-3-2 record and a postseason berth this past season, is the Victory’s head coach.
The team has plenty of local talent. Among that talent are:
Taylor Hallquist, who was an all-state talent for Columbia River High School, is on the Victory this season. After high school, Hallquist went on to shine at Western Washington University.
Also on the Victory team is former Mountain View standout Jessie Selby. A goalkeeper, Selby excelled at Southern Oregon University.
The Victory will play four home matches this season. Tickets are $5, and children 12 and under are admitted for free.
The Victory will host Seattle Reign 2 at 2 p.m. Sunday, May 26.
The rest of the home schedule is as follows:
June 1 vs Portland Thorns 2 at noon
June 9 vs. Westside Metros at noon
July 7 vs. Spokane Shadow at noon
