The West Coast League team gives its fans special deals on tickets and food at every home Tuesday game

It was chilly in Ridgefield on Tuesday, with light precipitation for much of the evening.
Heck, for June, let’s just call it cold.
Certainly not baseball weather.
Yet, the Ridgefield Raptors still had a crowd. No, not a record-breaking crowd or anything close to it.
But still, plenty showed up to the Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex for the Raptors’ game against Edmonton.
True, it was cold. The deals, though, were just too hot.
It was the first $3 Tuesday at The RORC.
Three dollars for a West Coast League baseball game? Check.
Three dollars for a hot dog? Check.
Three dollars for nachos? Check.
Soda, too? Check.

Oh, and for those who arrived at the concession stand early enough, a $3 off coupon, courtesy of the Washington’s Lottery. In other words, a free hot dog.
If you feed them at a decent price, people will come.
And the Ridgefield Raptors have their Field of Dreams at The RORC.
“Tuesdays were always tough,” said Gus Farah, the general manager of the team, referring to ticket sales.
Tuesday is not typically a night out for a family, after all.
But all families appreciate a good deal.
“We implemented the Three-Dollar Tuesday, and it became the second- or third-biggest night of the week for us,” Farah said.
The All Beef Hot Dog usually goes for 6.50. The nachos are $8. The bottled soda is 4.50. A general admission ticket is $9. Buy all four of those on a Tuesday, and that’s a savings of $16.
Fans love it.
“We’ll have some nights with more than a thousand and up to 1,300 on some Tuesdays,” Farah said this week.

The Raptors did not crack the 1,000-fan mark on this, the first $3 Tuesday of the season. But there are plenty more opportunities, dates that should include better baseball weather. There are two more $3 Tuesdays in June, and three in July.
“It works,” Farah said. “It’s family night for me. It’s affordable, and people are taking advantage of it.”
On the field, the Raptors lost a non-league game against rival Cowlitz Black Bears last week, then lost twice in Portland against the Pickles to open up West Coast League play.
The Raptors returned home Monday and beat Edmonton 3-2 for their first WCL victory of the year.
Edmonton got the best of the Raptors on Tuesday, recording a 13-4 victory.
The Raptors wrap up this three-game series with a home game Wednesday.
They will be on the road over the weekend, then return to the RORC next Tuesday, June 11, against Yakima Valley. And yes, that would make it a $3 Tuesday.
