King’s Way Christian football looking for new head coach

Tom Schroeder will remain with program as an assistant

VANCOUVER — Tom Schroeder is still very much a part of King’s Way Christian football, but he is no longer the head coach.

The school announced Thursday that Schroeder will become an assistant coach on offense for the Knights.

Schroeder, a longtime assistant at Camas High School, took over the head coaching duties at King’s Way Christian last season.

“Tom Schroeder thoroughly enjoyed his season of coaching our Knights here at King’s Way,” said Ted Buck, the school’s athletic director, via email. “Through his time here, Schroeder has discovered that his true joy is found as an assistant rather than as the head varsity coach. Tom is applauded for this transparency.

“All of his contributions from this last year and the many preparations and contacts for the upcoming football season are so appreciated.”

Buck said the search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
