
Columbia River, Hockinson, Skyview, and Seton Catholic have advanced to the state semifinals in their girls soccer brackets, and the Columbia River and La Center volleyball teams each earned a trophy at their state tournaments

One Columbia River powerhouse is heading back to the final four.
Another Columbia River powerhouse missed out on a fifth consecutive state championship but rebounded to finish third in state.
Those are just two of the many highlights during a busy high school sports day for Clark County athletes.
The Columbia River girls soccer team topped East Valley of Yakima 3-2 Saturday in the quarterfinals of the Class 2A state tournament. The Rapids, the No. 1 seed, head to the final four next week. It is the ninth consecutive final four appearance for the program.
The Columbia River volleyball team, seeking a fifth state title in a row, reached the semifinals before falling to Ellensburg on Saturday. It ended an 18-match winning streak in the state tournament for the Rapids, who went 4-0 in 2021, 2022, 2023, and 2024 before winning their first two matches of this year’s tournament. Columbia River responded to the loss by winning the third-place match Saturday evening.
Back to soccer, there will be a number of Clark County teams in the final four next week.
Joining Columbia River in the 2A final four are the Hockinson Hawks. Hockinson, the 6-seed, beat Sehome 1-0 on Saturday.
Hockinson will play West Valley of Spokane in one semifinal next week in Federal Way. Columbia River will take on Anacortes in the other semifinal on Friday. The championship match is Saturday, Nov. 22.
In Class 4A, No. 3 Skyview beat Mead 1-0 on Saturday. The Storm are headed to Puyallup for the final four, with the semifinal match on Friday. The championship match is Saturday, Nov. 22.
In Class 1A, Seton Catholic, the No. 2 seed, beat University Prep 1-0 on Saturday to advance to the final four. Seton will take on the Bear Creek School in a semifinal Saturday in Federal Way. The championship match is Saturday, Nov. 22.
In volleyball, the La Center Wildcats reached the Class 1A state semifinals before falling to Meridian in four sets on Saturday. The Wildcats ended up taking home the fourth-place trophy from Yakima.
The Class 4A and 3A state volleyball tournaments are next week.
And in football, Skyline topped Camas 33-20, ending Camas’ season in the first round of the Class 4A playoffs. Later, Seton Catholic held off La Center 14-7 in a Class 1A state playoff game.
