Battle Ground’s Citizen of the Year Committee is asking the community for nominations for 2022.
“This has been another unusual year, making it difficult to see all the good works we know are happening,’’ read a statement from the committee. “We rely on your eyes and ears to help us recognize and celebrate those working hard for our community.’’
Battle Ground Citizen of the Year is a time-honored tradition, and recipients receive recognition in many ways, from riding in the annual Harvest Days Parade to having a rose ceremonially planted in their honor by the Royal Rosarians of Portland.

I nominate Phil Hogan for Battleground’s citizen of the year. I can not get on Facebook or http://www.tinyurl.com/22y7dhn8 doesn’t work. Most people in Battleground know Phil Hogan. He has allowed the public to have club meetings, fund raisers, and celebration of life services on his property. He is an extremally active member of Battleground and been there for a very long time. He is generous and very kind. Always helping others. He is the type of person I wish more people were like.
I agree with Carol about Phil Hogan being the outstanding citizen in Battleground and deserves recognition for his above and beyond citizenry ship. . When there is a need Phil is there in Deed. His involvement, integrity and compassion for Battleground and this country is unsurpassed. Knowing Phil has been a personal blessing for many many people including myself. Phil is an unsung hero.
