Area resident Wynn Grcich offers her support for Jennifer Heine-Withee for Battle Ground School Board

Battle Ground School Board elections are here! I recommend Jennifer Heine-Withee. She has been very active at the school board meetings in Battle Ground. She truly has the heart and soul to do this job. Come to the board meeting and meet her. Jennifer has the common-sense values to make public schools better. We need a candidate like her.

The challenger for this position is the head of the teachers’ union and a retired teacher. We were taken through two elections to tax our property for more money this year, for the schools. They have $17,000 per student. That is a lot of money for failing test scores.

In my opinion, money is not the problem. They got plenty during COVID lockdowns and spent it all. The schools’ test scores in math and reading, prove the money is not for learning. The overspending can be fixed very easily. Check out the spending for the covid lock downs.

Jennifer doesn’t want to raise your taxes. She wants parental involvement, in classroom help. We need volunteer reading tutors.

She has many ideas to set the course for better learning.
