As the start of the school year nears on Mon., Aug. 28, Woodland Public Schools welcomes students and their families back to school for the 2023-24 year with the following information, resources, and upcoming events.
School office open dates
Schools and district offices open to the public on Mon., Aug. 21. Regular non-student office hours for each building are as follows:
- District Office and Business Office: 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
- Woodland High School: 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Woodland Middle School: 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m.
- All Elementary Schools: 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

The district utilizes the FlashAlert service to send out press releases and important information. Additionally, FlashAlert is the district’s service for releasing alerts for school closures due to inclement weather. Back-to-School Event Calendar
Athletic registration now available
Students planning to participate in school athletics need to register in order to participate. Additional information about registration and other requirements is available from the district’s website at: www.woodlandschools.org/athletics
Back-to-School Bash provides free backpacks and school supplies for families in need on Sat., Aug. 12
The Back-to-School Bash is Saturday, August 12 from 3-6 p.m. at Woodland High School located at 1500 Dike Access Road where students can receive free backpacks and school supplies. No advance registration is required.
Medication Check-In
Parents with students requiring medication administered by school professionals check in their medication before the first day of school. School offices open to the public on Monday, August 21.

Columbia Elementary School
Open House – Wed., Aug. 23, 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Students and parents can drop in anytime between 5 p.m. and 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23 to meet teachers, see their classroom, get any questions answered, and drop off supplies.

Woodland Middle School
Lunch and Lockers – Thu., Aug. 24, 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.
Lunch and Lockers invites students and their families to a sit-down lunch where students can pick up schedules, meet their teachers, practice opening their lockers (and decorate them) and more. Lunch is provided for free (pick up lunch tickets from homeroom teachers).
