With more than 30 participating businesses and churches throughout Clark County, the initiative aims to enhance election procedures and elevate election standards
In a notable expansion of grassroots efforts, the Restore Election Confidence Initiative (REC) has successfully increased its network of signature stations, providing residents with convenient locations to sign the initiative. With more than 30 participating businesses and churches throughout Clark County, the initiative aims to enhance election procedures and elevate election standards.
If enacted, the REC Initiative will bring about common sense reforms like chain of custody requirements for all ballots, cleaning up voter rolls by taking active measures, a first-of-its-kind post-election audit starting in 2024, video recording of ballot boxes and processing areas, and more results reported on Election day.
Led by passionate volunteers, the REC Initiative is a community-led effort that seeks to collect 35,000 signatures by May 25, 2024. The initiative has gained momentum, reflecting the community’s eagerness to enact common-sense reforms according to Rob Anderson, sponsor of the Restore Election Confidence Initiative.
“So far, when people see what the initiative does, the most common response has been ‘We should be doing these things now, where do I sign?'” Anderson said.
