Residence fire claims the life of unidentified adult male

Manufactured home fire took place Wednesday afternoon in Vancouver

A fire at a Vancouver residence Wednesday afternoon claimed the life of an unidentified adult male.

At 3:58 p.m. Wednesday (Feb. 3), fire units from the Vancouver Fire Department (VFD) and Clark County Fire District 6 (CCFD6) were dispatched to the report of a house fire at 7920 NE 30th Ave.

An engine from CCFD6 arrived first to find a smoking single-story manufactured home. A ladder truck and engine from VFD arrived shortly after and two fire crews went inside to search the structure and extinguish the fire.

Crews were met by thick smoke and moderate heat, but found only smoldering hot spots. Firefighters found a deceased adult male who had not been able to make it out of the home.

Firefighters cleared the structure of smoke and then turned the scene over to the Clark County Fire Marshal’s office for investigation.

A total of three engines and one ladder truck from VFD and CCFD6 were on scene.
