
Free gift for moms at Pike Art Gallery Saturday
Area residents have the opportunity to see all that’s blooming in oils on canvas during the Camas Mother’s Day Plant & Patio Fair at Pike Art Gallery in downtown Camas on Saturday (May 13) from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
All mothers who stop in will receive a free gift from Pike Art Gallery during the special event, while supplies last. Complimentary refreshments will also be served.
“This event is one of my favorite Downtown Camas Association events all year long,” said Liz Pike, owner of Pike Art Gallery. “It has inspired a new body of chic garden art that will be on display for sale on Saturday, May 13th. Come see us on Saturday while you are in town for the Mother’s Day Plant & Patio Fair!”
Using antique windows as a frame, Pike used cut-to-size plywood as her canvas. She painted this new series of antique window art in oil paints with floral themes. She also constructed several country bird houses using recycled fence boards and hand painted them in fun art compositions.
“I love making cool stuff out of recycled materials,” said Pike. “These up-cycled original art pieces may be the perfect gift for your Mother!”
Pike Art Gallery is located at 302 NE Sixth Avenue at the corner of Birch Street and Sixth.
“We invite the public to meet our gallery artists and see what’s new,” said Liz Pike.
In addition to Camas First Friday Art Walk receptions, Pike Art Gallery stays open late every Thursday with live painting demonstrations by Blue Bond and Liz Pike from 5 to 7 p.m. where visitors to the gallery can see art being made in real time. The weekly event is known as Thirsty ART Thursday.
