Occupant found deceased in house fire on NW Lower River Road
On Thursday (June 8) shortly after 6:30 a.m., first responders from Vancouver Fire Department and regional partners responded to the report of a fully engulfed house fire at the 15700 block of NW Lower River Rd. near the end of the roadway.
Two occupants were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries and one occupant was unaccounted for at the scene. During the firefighting efforts and subsequent investigation, the unaccounted-for occupant was located deceased inside the residence.
The house is being described as a total loss. Investigators from the Clark County Fire Marshal’s Office, Vancouver Police Department, Clark County Sheriff’s Office, and the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office responded to conduct the investigation into what occurred. The investigation is ongoing, and no fire cause has been determined.
At this time there is no indication of foul play. Names of those involved are not being released at this time.
