The mom and baby are both doing well after their big night
BRUSH PRAIRIE — It’s not every day that Fire District 3 responders get to deliver a baby in a fire station.
On Tuesday (Jan. 16), five firefighter/EMT/paramedics were on duty when a woman in labor arrived at Station 35 in Battle Ground with her husband.
The crew quickly moved her to the training room and assisted in delivering a healthy baby boy. Both patients were transferred by North Country EMS to the hospital for follow-up care after a delay due to weather conditions. The mom and baby are both doing well after their big night.
Clark County Fire District 3 provides fire and life safety services to 46,000 people in east Clark County, including the city of Battle Ground. Fifty-seven full-time and 10 volunteer emergency personnel responded to 5,173 calls in 2023. Fire District 3 operates under a balanced budget and has a long history of passing its financial and accountability audits by the state.
