Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will repair the driving surface along SR 500 to make the drive smoother
CAMAS – Travelers who use State Route 500 in east Clark County, also known as Southeast 6th Avenue, should plan for delays.
On Sunday, June 1, the Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will repair the driving surface along SR 500 to make the drive smoother.
Crews will use a “grind and inlay” method, removing the top layer of damaged pavement (grind) and replacing it with new asphalt (inlay).
What to expect
Sunday, June 1:
- The eastbound lanes of SR 500/Southeast 6th Avenue will close between Southeast Russell Street (milepost 20.03) and Southeast 8th Avenue (milepost 20.30) from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
- Flaggers will direct travelers through the area.
During the closure, travelers will follow a signed detour using Southeast Russell Street to Southeast 8th Avenue and back to SR 500. Vehicles taller than 15 feet or wider than 10 feet cannot use the detour and should take a different route.
For everyone’s safety, please slow down, stay focused and expect delays through the work zone.
