WSDOT maintenance crews will use a rolling slowdown on northbound I-5 approaching the North Fork Lewis River Bridge to install a temporary bridge deck patch
WOODLAND – People who use northbound Interstate 5 near Woodland in Clark and Cowlitz Counties should plan ahead for delays and additional travel time.
On Tuesday (May 16), Washington State Department of Transportation’s maintenance crews will use a rolling slowdown on northbound I-5 approaching the North Fork Lewis River Bridge to install a temporary bridge deck patch after a hole was discovered in the center travel lane.
What to expect during bridge work
- Between 9-11 a.m., Tuesday, May 16, a rolling slowdown will be in place for all travel lanes on northbound I-5 at milepost 19.87, just south of Exit 21 for Woodland.
- During rolling slowdowns, travelers should expect delays. Traffic will return to normal travel speeds once vehicles pass through the work zone.
This temporary patch will be in place until more extensive permanent work to fully rehabilitate the northbound span of the I-5 NB/SB North Fork Lewis River Bridge deck is completed in summer 2023.
