VANCOUVER – The Clark County Commission on Aging is focusing the remainder of the year on community engagement for people 60 and older. In September, the commission will host part two of a three-part speaker series that will explore ways to support individuals, businesses and community groups, understand best practices for engaging with older adults and foster community-wide awareness of available aging resources.
The Sept. 20, meeting will include a discussion with Alan DeLaTorre who most recently worked as the Age-Friendly City program manager for the city of Portland on the Age- and Disability-Inclusive Neighborhoods (ADIN) Action Plan. The session will include a review of priority community engagement strategies.
Commission on Aging meetings are at 4:30 p.m. on the third Wednesday of each month. Meetings are currently held in a hybrid format with both in-person and virtual participation options.
