On Feb. 10, detectives were informed the motorcyclist – identified as 21-year-old William D. Linson of Portland, Oregon – had died at area hospital
On Feb. 7 at about 11:41 p.m., members of the Clark County Sheriff’s Office were notified of a serious injury collision that occurred in the 22600 block of NE 167th Ave. Sheriff deputies learned a Battle Ground Police Officer (BGPD) attempted a traffic stop on a 2003 Honda CBR600 motorcycle near the intersection of NE 167th Ave and NE 219th St.
The motorcycle was described to be black/yellow in color, and the rider was wearing a yellow helmet with a black jacket. The motorcyclist turned northbound onto NE 167th Ave, and reportedly fled at a high rate of speed causing the officer to terminate their traffic stop.
The motorcycle continued north eventually traveling off the roadway near the 22600 block of NE 167th Ave, where it collided with several trees. The BGPD officer located the motorcyclist down in the ravine and requested an ambulance.
Members of American Medical Response (AMR) and Clark County Fire District 3 (CCFD) responded to the scene and assumed life-saving measures. The motorcyclist was transported via ambulance to an area hospital with critical injuries.
The Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit was called to the scene and assumed the crash investigation.
