The project stayed on time and came in under projected budget costs
Just over a year ago, on June 20, 2023, the Clark County Council authorized the county manager to sign a five-year contract with Axon Enterprises to provide body-worn cameras (BWCs), vehicle cameras, updated Taser products, as well as other performance improvements and tools to the Clark County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO),
On Tuesday (July 3), the project manager for the CCSO Body-Worn Camera Implementation Project updated the final status report and declared the project completed. The project stayed on time and came in under projected budget costs.
As part of this project, the Sheriff’s Office has issued and provided training for 134 BWCs and 133 Taser 10 systems, outfitted 95 marked patrol vehicles and two CCSO armored vehicles with vehicle camera systems, and installed microphone and camera systems in three interview rooms.
The Sheriff’s Office would again like to thank the voters of Clark County for passing the Public Safety Tax, which funds the BWC program.
A special thank you goes to the Clark County Council, the County Manager’s Office, the Clark County IT Department, the Clark County Budget Office, the Clark County Public Works Fleet Services Division, the Body-Worn Camera Project Team, and all those who worked hard to make this project happen.
