The CCRA board oversees downtown redevelopment in a way consistent with the Vancouver City Center Vision plan
VANCOUVER – The city of Vancouver is seeking applicants with real estate, construction or economic development backgrounds to support the growth and success of downtown as a member of its City Center Redevelopment Authority (CCRA) board. Applications for this mid-term vacancy must be submitted by Sept. 9.
The CCRA board oversees downtown redevelopment in a way consistent with the Vancouver City Center Vision plan. In addition to CCRA’s role in leading downtown development, the board advises the mayor and City Council on public-private partnerships, public assistance to private developments, and the business aspects of redevelopment projects and agreements in downtown Vancouver.
Consistent with the CCRA’s charter, board members should have broad business backgrounds with experience relevant to the CRRA’s purpose in fields such as real estate development, law, construction management or economic development. In addition, the CCRA is committed to ensuring that its board represents diverse community voices with varied lived and professional experiences. Applicants are not required to live within the city limits.
All applicants must be available to participate in a virtual interview with the Vancouver City Council on a date to be determined. The term for this position expires on Dec. 31.
Regular CCRA meetings are on the third Thursday of each month beginning at 12:30 p.m. at City Hall (415 W. Sixth St.). Special meetings of the Board are advertised and held as needed, historically four to six times per year. Board members prepare for meetings by reviewing development plans, financial projections, legal documents and other technical information related to the projects presented at workshops and public meetings.
