Organization of veterans, active duty military, and their families works to support veterans and mentor youth
The American Legion Smith-Reynolds Post 14, along with the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 14, are proud to announce the start of a new fiscal year with newly appointed officers and a slate of upcoming activities designed to honor veterans and serve the community.
The American Legion is an organization of veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families. The Post and Auxiliary work together to ensure veterans are recognized and supported. Their collaborative efforts include honoring veterans and the military on Veterans Day and Memorial Day, and providing ongoing support to veterans in VA hospitals and care facilities.
In addition to their focus on veterans, Post 14 and Unit 14 are deeply committed to youth development. The organizations offer scholarships to the relatives of veterans, sponsor a local Scout Troop, and support the Boys and Girls State programs, which foster leadership skills and civic responsibility among young people.

The mission of the American Legion and its Auxiliary extends beyond service to veterans. They advocate for veterans’ rights, educate citizens on important issues, mentor youth, and promote patriotism and good citizenship within the community.
Located at 4607 NE St. James Road in Vancouver, American Legion Post 14 serves as the hub of these activities. Visitors are encouraged to stop by, enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee, and meet the Club Manager and members. The commander of American Legion Post 14 is John Wallace. The Auxillary president is Audrey Hoff. The club manager is Julie Crockett.
