At just after 8 a.m. Sunday, Clark County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) deputies and EMS personnel were dispatched to the 21800 block of NE Lucia Falls Road, for the report of a single vehicle rollover collision.

A Clark County Sheriff’s Deputy was first to arrive on scene, and discovered a Dodge pickup off the roadway on its side.  The pickup had impacted a tree on the driver’s side roof, causing significant damage to the vehicle. The deputy discovered that the driver and lone occupant of the vehicle, identified later as Roger Armstrong, was unconscious due to injuries sustained in the crash.  EMS efforts to save Armstrong were unsuccessful and he was declared deceased at the scene.

CCSO traffic detectives were summoned, and concluded the on-scene investigation at about 1:30 p.m.  Thus far, it is known that Armstrong, age 33 and a resident of Yacolt, WA, was on his way to work when he drove off the north side of Lucia Falls Road.  His vehicle rolled, and in doing so, struck a tree. Detectives will be investigating proximate causes for the collision, and using reconstructive methods to assist in determining the speed of the driver.
