Arrest made in July 11 drive-by shooting

A 16-year-old male was taken into custody and booked into the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center

On Tuesday (July 22), the Vancouver Police Major Crimes Unit, with assistance from the VPD Crime Reduction Unit and Clark Regional SWAT Team, served a search warrant at 5500 NE Fourth Plain Blvd for a person associated with a shooting that took place on July 11.  

A 16-year-old male was taken into custody and booked into the Clark County Juvenile Detention Center for crimes including Attempted Murder I, Assault I, and Drive-by shooting.  Investigators anticipate additional charges and are seeking information from the public about additional persons involved in the shooting.

Background

On July 11 at about 11:40 p.m., Vancouver Police responded to a disturbance with a weapon call in the 6700 block of E Mill Plain Blvd. Arriving officers located a male in his vehicle who had been shot, and his vehicle had also been hit multiple times. The male was transported to an area hospital.
