VANCOUVER – Travelers who use southbound Interstate 5 in Vancouver should plan for lane closures and delays.

Starting Thursday, July 17, the Washington State Department of Transportation maintenance crews will repair the electronic message board signs at two locations on southbound I-5 in Vancouver.

Electronic message boards show real-time updates like traffic delays, crashes, road work and safety alerts, helping travelers avoid delays and stay safe.

What to expect

Thursday, July 17:

  • The right lane of southbound I-5 will close between Northeast 179th Street (milepost 9.1) and the I-205 interchange (milepost 8.4) from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Friday, July 18 to Saturday, July 19:

  • The left and center lanes of southbound I-5 will close overnight between East Fourth Plain Boulevard (milepost 1.7) and Evergreen Boulevard (milepost 0.70) from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m.
