Camas resident Corey Hermance was identified by the Clark County Medical Examiner’s office as the driver in Sunday’s single-vehicle collision
The driver of a stolen vehicle involved in a fatal single-car collision on Sunday (March 26) has been identified by the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office as Corey Hermance of Camas.
On Sunday at about 12:30 p.m., a witness called 9-1-1 to report hearing a collision near the 35000 block of NE Washougal River Road in Clark County. The witness was able to locate a truck that had driven off the roadway into a tree.
First responders arrived and found the single occupant of the vehicle with significant injuries. The male driver, later identified as Hermance, was transported to PeaceHealth Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The vehicle, a white Ford Ranger, had been reported stolen out of Portland on Saturday (March 25). The vehicle owner has been notified of its involvement in the collision.
Identification of the decedent will be done by the Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office. This case is currently under investigation by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit.
