Yana N. Cook, 24, was arrested in Raymond, Washington Tuesday by detectives from the VPD Major Crimes Unit and the Washington State Dept. of Corrections
VANCOUVER – On Nov. 6, Vancouver Police responded to what was initially reported as a single vehicle traffic collision in the 6500 block of NE Fourth Plain Blvd. When officers arrived, they located a vehicle with a bullet hole in the window and a 26-year-old male inside with a gunshot wound. The victim did not survive his injuries.
The Clark County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the victim as Branden Lombardo, of Vancouver. The manner and cause of death was a gunshot wound to the head.
On Tuesday (Nov. 15), the suspect in the investigation, Yana N. Cook, 24, was arrested in Raymond, Washington by detectives from the Vancouver Police Department Major Crimes Unit and the Washington State Dept. of Corrections. Cook will be booked into the Clark County Jail for Murder I and Drive by Shooting.
The investigation is continuing, and nothing further is releasable at this time.
