Bob Peck Award named in honor of teacher who served students at Battle Ground High School for more than 37 years
BATTLE GROUND — The winners of the 59th annual Battle Ground School District Art Show were recognized during a school board meeting Monday at Captain Strong Primary.
More than 800 pieces of art created by students in kindergarten through 12th grade are on display through May 25 at the school, which is located at 1002 NW Sixth Ave. in Battle Ground. The public is invited to view the art free of charge from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. on school days through May 25 at the school.
One of the most prestigious awards given, the Bob Peck Award, honors Bob Peck, the founder of the art show and a former teacher at Battle Ground High School who died last year.
He taught at the school for more than 37 years. The school’s gallery is named for him.
