Event to be held Saturday at Opdahl Chiropractic
Families are invited to a fun-filled event on December 10 in Battle Ground. The event is hosted by several local businesses and will feature free activities for kids as well as holiday treats and handmade gifts for sale. A portion of the proceeds and any donations received will go to support the Chief Umtuch DREAM Team, a youth leadership group working to reduce and prevent substance use among their peers in Battle Ground.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 10 at Opdahl Chiropractic, both outside in the parking lot and indoors. Free activities and offerings include selfies with Santa, face painting, reindeer games, letter writing to Santa’s elves at the North Pole, a cupcake walk, free shave ice and hot cocoa. Items for purchase include local honey, baked goods, and handmade crafts.
This is the second year for this event which has been expanded this year to include more activities and area businesses. Last year’s inaugural event raised $300 which helped to fund the DREAM Team’s attendance at a statewide prevention leadership training last month. This year, the group hopes to raise additional funds to pay travel expenses to a state conference in the spring to present to other youth prevention groups from around the state.
