Two things that are wrong in Clark County that have not changed, but are topics of continual discussion.

IBR/Light rail is #1

Recently, the Vancouver City Council voted to endorse lite rail as part of the IBR. I think I read it right. Did the Vancouver City Council come from a communist country? They are NOT kings. That vote defies our public vote – three times – no, no, no to light rail and tolls. If the VCC does not accept a public vote, they should then move the entire council to a communist country of their choice. We live in a Representative Republic and we honor the vote of “we the people.”

The homeless population

The homeless population in Clark County is on the increase. After a clean up by Clark County, the same sites repopulated. Do laws change attitudes about work? Some of the homeless that are constantly soliciting at corners, traffic islands, at stop lights, make enough money that they lose the desire to work. If all you folks that contribute to the homeless being homeless would stop helping them, it may drive the need to find a job.

The county and city can pass the laws prohibiting these camps you see everywhere. But who will enforce them? Oh, by the way, more homeless folks now have dogs with them. Are they soliciting food for their pets? Also, who cleans up all the messes? Stop catering to the homeless.
