St. John, with its large congregation, has special times for its Palm Sunday and Holy Week services
Holy Week is near, and churches throughout the world will be holding special services as Christians prepare to celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Death, as we know it on earth, is not the end. As is written in 1 Corinthians 15:54, “Death is swallowed up in Victory.”
Locally, churches throughout the region have a weeklong schedule of events, including St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 8701 NE 119th Street in Vancouver.
Palm Sunday services at St. John the Evangelist will be March 24, with a 9 a.m. service in English, and Spanish services at noon and at 5 p.m. Please note that the normal 11 a.m. Spanish service has been moved to noon.
The church will also host Holy Thursday (March 28) and Good Friday (March 29) services at 7 p.m. (bilingual). There are no morning mass services on those days.
The Easter Vigil is set for 7 p.m. Saturday, March 30.
Then on Easter morning, the church will hold an English service at 9 a.m., and Spanish services at 11 a.m. and 5 p.m.
Easter, according to church leaders around the world, is a time for hope and joy.
