Moon Over Buffalo is coming to Woodland.
Love Street Playhouse is proud to present the madcap comedy Moon over Buffalo with 14 performances scheduled from April 25 through May 18 in Woodland.
Theater fans should act swiftly. Tickets are going fast. Opening night is already sold out, as well as the May 3, 4, and 18 performances.
Moon Over Buffalo features a door-slamming backstage romp, centering on George and Charlotte Hay (played by Lou Pallotta of Ridgefield and Samantha Brown Hsu of Portland) as fading stars of the 1950s. The Hays are playing boy Private Lives and Cyrano De Bergerac in rep in Buffalo with five other actors. “Down on their luck” doesn’t begin to describe it.
But it turns out the famous movie director Frank Capra is coming to town, and he just might cast George and Charlotte in one of his movies.
Ruthless ambition takes over as George and Charlotte do everything in their power to make Capra love them. Everything that can go wrong does go wrong. There is a visit from their daughter’s clueless fiance and hilarious uncertainty about which play they are actually performing, caused by Charlotte’s deaf, old stage-manager mother who hates every bone in George’s body.
Owner of Love Street Playhouse and Director of Moon Over Buffalo, Melinda Pallotta has assembled a talented cast for this high-energy, uproarious production. Joining Lou Pallotta and Samantha Brown Hus are David Roberts as Paul, Lynn Lavon as Roz, Sharon Mann as Ethel, Jeremy January as Howard, Nicole Harwood as Eileen, and Michael Harwood as Richard.
The creative team includes Melinda Pallotta (Director, Love Street Owner and Set Designer); Lou Pallotta (Love Street Owner, Managing Director, and Set Construction); Mikail Nordquist (Lighting Designer); Lorraine Little and Tracey Hugo (Costume Designers); David Bareford (Violence Design); Michele Glover (Props Designer); Alex Girard (Sound Design) and Meg Hofer (Stage Manager).
Tickets to Moon Over Buffalo start at $26 and can be purchased online at www.LoveStreetPlayhouse.com or by phone at 800-966-8865. Love Street Playhouse is located at 126 Loves Ave. in Woodland.
