🎧 Saving Grace Church Brings Laundry Love to Battle Ground
Saving Grace Church of the Nazarene and two laundromats in Battle Ground teamed up earlier this month to provide enough quarters for loads of washing and drying for 40 people, and the hope is that Laundry Love will become a monthly event
Saving Grace Church of the Nazarene and two laundromats in Battle Ground teamed up earlier this month for “Laundry Love,” providing enough quarters for 20 full loads of washing and drying for 40 people.
“This is a small act of kindness that lifts the burden of one person at a time,” said Will Swaney, the pastor for Saving Grace Church. “We talked and listened to patrons, which led to conversations between other patrons, who also had their laundry paid for. Who knew laundry could become a community celebration?”
Sunshine Laundry and Cleanworks Laundromat, both on Main Street in Battle Ground, helped with the celebration, helping people in need.
Volunteers at Laundry Love also shared information about the church’s services, including the Fourth Sunday Community Meal and Grocery Staples programs.
The church plans to repeat Laundry Love, a quarter-chunking, community get-together event, monthly. The plan is for the second Sunday of every month, from noon to 2 p.m., at Sunshine and Cleanworks.
Founded in 1951, Saving Grace is a faith community in Battle Ground, with a mission to “make God known by actively demonstrating the love of Christ in Battle Ground … and beyond.”
Worship services are held at the church, located at 203 S. Parkway in Battle Ground. For more information, visit: SavingGraceBG.com
