Dialed Cycling Team is holding its ninth annual fun ride on Sunday, Dec. 15, plus raising funds via GoFundMe in order to purchase bicycles for children in need
The Dialed Cycling Team of Vancouver is once again looking to purchase bicycles for children who would likely never own a new bike, and they have a couple of fundraisers.
One is the team’s annual Ugly Christmas Sweater Bike Ride, taking place Sunday, Dec. 15, in Vancouver.
Plus, the group has a GoFundMe account: https://www.gofundme.com/f/6cmnr-dialed-cycling-teams-bikes-for-kids-fundraiser
“The Dialed Cycling Team believes all kids deserve a bike,” according to the summary on the GoFundMe account.
The goal is to purchase up to 20 bicycles this holiday season. The Dialed Cycling Team will assemble the bikes, deliver them, and also provide a workshop on cycling safety in a partnership with the Vancouver Police Department’s PAL program. Each child will receive a new bicycle from one of the team’s partners (Scott, BMC, Cannondale), a Giro helmet, and a bike lock.
The Ugly Christmas Sweater Bike Ride is a flat, 23-mile, slow-paced fun ride. This year, the ride starts at 9 a.m. in east Vancouver, heads to downtown Vancouver, and returns to east Vancouver. Participants wear their favorite ugly Christmas sweaters and many of them decorate their bicycles, as well.
Organizers ask that riders sign up through Strava: https://www.strava.com/clubs/188990/group_events/1857095
