VANCOUVER — The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington will host its 2022 Annual Luncheon on Tue., June 7 from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Hilton Vancouver Washington.
The program features keynote speaker Tyler Monk, who is the founder and inspirational storyteller behind The Underdog Mentality. The afternoon also includes presentations of the SW Washington Philanthropy Awards. Ron and Terry Prill were selected as Philanthropists of the Year for their charitable leadership around youth development and healthcare related causes. The Camas couple’s commitments of time, talent and treasure have spanned nearly two decades in Vancouver, strengthening organizations like the Boys and Girls Clubs of Southwest Washington, PeaceHealth Southwest Washington Medical Center and others.
Geri Hiller will receive the organization’s Community Champion Award for her active engagement in Clark County’s faith and houseless communities. Collaborating with residents and organizations like Council for the Homeless and Friends of the Carpenter, she has transformed the Winter Hospitality Overflow program into a community resource that assists hundreds of folks seeking safe shelter each year. The Friend of the Foundation Award will be presented to Vaughn Lein who passed away in 2021. Lein served on the organization’s board of directors for more than a decade, contributing thoughtful leadership, financial support and moral courage to advance its mission.
This year’s program, themed Moving Mountains, will explore how philanthropy, nonprofits and communities can overcome seemingly impossible challenges. Tickets are nearly sold out for the event, which is not a fundraiser. Those interested can purchase seats online at cfsww.org. Regarded as southwest Washington’s preeminent celebration of philanthropy, the Annual Luncheon is made possible thanks to sponsors like Columbia Trust Company, Leslie Durst, the Kuni Foundation and Russell Investments.
