🎧 Battle Ground Honors 31 Fallen Heroes This Memorial Day
A Memorial Day ceremony to honor the men and women of the U.S. Armed Forces who lost their lives in service to our nation will be held at 11 a.m., on Monday, May 25. The event will take place at the Battle Ground Veterans Memorial located in Kiwanis Park, 422 SW 2nd Avenue.
The Battle Ground City Council invites members of the community to join them as we remember and pay tribute to the 31 Battle Ground-area men enshrined on walls of the memorial.
“On Memorial Day, we gather in solemn remembrance of the courageous men and women who gave their lives in defense of our nation,” shared Mayor Eric Overholser. “Their sacrifice represents the very best of our country — selfless service, unwavering bravery, and devotion to protecting others. As a community, we honor their memory and extend our deepest gratitude to our fallen heroes and their families.”
The ceremony will include the presentation of the flags by members of Battle Ground Cub Scout Pack 443. The ceremony will also feature performances by Battle Ground High School Bandmember Rubyee MacPherson (Trumpet) and local musician Logan Gillespie (Bagpipes).
