🎧 MGP Silent on WA Income Tax — Voters Want Answers
Pressure is mounting for the 3rd Congressional District incumbent to address Washington’s new income tax as the 2026 race takes shape.
Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez has faced renewed criticism over whether she supports Washington’s new income tax, with The Center Square reporting that repeated attempts to secure an interview on the issue have gone largely unanswered or resulted in statements that did not directly address the tax. Republican challenger Sen. John Braun and the RNC have pointed to Perez’s record and past party platform involvement as evidence that voters deserve a clearer answer, while opponents of the tax have submitted more than 500,000 signatures in hopes of placing a repeal measure on the November ballot. This week’s poll asks whether Perez should publicly state her position.
