Camas resident Doug Tweet offers his support for Republican Joe Kent in the 3rd Congressional District race

Joe Kent has earned my vote both for the strength of his character and for his position on the issues.
I greatly respect those who volunteer for the military, and Kent’s over 20 years of service and experience are impressive. He was willing to pay the ultimate price for our freedoms and he lost his first wife to war. He understands the cost of war more than most of us, and such a background is invaluable in Congress. He will not easily commit our soldiers and funds to “endless foreign wars,” as he puts it. Also, watching one of his televised debates, I was struck by how calm and reasoned he was while answering the moderator’s questions and handling his opponent’s attacks. In contrast, Marie Perez often appeared agitated and irritated.
On many issues, Kent has my wholehearted support. He wants to stop the huge influx of illegal migrants which includes violent criminals. Crimes range from drug and human trafficking, to thefts, rapes, murders and more. At a town hall he said that if we stop the government incentives like free food, housing, healthcare, income, transportation, etc (which homeless Americans wished they had) many illegal migrants may decide to leave on their own, or not come in the first place. We need to encourage the legal process for immigration and citizenship. I know many people who have done that, and appreciate them as neighbors, friends, and relatives.
As for inflation, Kent rightly blames the Federal government’s wasteful spending spree that Perez has consistently supported. Fiscal responsibility is key to a long-term solution. Another inflation driver has been the restrictions Biden/Harris/Perez put on the production of domestic oil and gas, which greatly increased the price of those fuels, affecting our entire economy. Removing those restrictions will reduce fuel costs as well as restore energy independence, which improves our national security.
On the I-5 Bridge replacement project, Kent honors our votes. In 2012, voters in every city in Clark County rejected the C-TRAN proposition to extend Oregon TriMet MAX light rail into Clark County. In 2013, a strong majority (68%) of Clark County voters insisted on having a vote before light rail could be introduced. Kent honors the citizens by opposing light rail without a vote, while Perez ignores them and is currently pushing for light rail and tolls on a replacement I-5 Bridge.
Kent’s opponent likes to paint herself as a moderate. But, check out her voting record at https://joekentforcongress.com/marie/. We will be unable to reverse the disastrous policies of the Biden/Harris administration unless we replace her with a well-qualified Republican, Joe Kent.

The IBR plan that Perez is pushing for an I-5 bridge replacement adds unnecessary and exorbitant light rail plus buses and vans for the transit component. The truth is buses, Bus Rapid Transit, and vans could be the public transit component instead, to cut the cost of the project dramatically. A recent report by John Ley for ClarkCountyToday explains, I-5 Bridge replacement project has the world’s most expensive light rail.
Ley also recaps reports by the Cascade Policy Institute (CPI) on TriMet MAX underperformance for decades, including the costly MAX light rail Yellow Line that Perez hopes will be exended into Clark County.
In 2022, former Congresswoman Jaime Herrera Beutler sent a letter to Interstate Bridge Replacement Program Administrator Greg Johnson reiterating Southwest Washington’s repeated rejection of light rail and proposing transit alternatives for the proposed I-5 bridge replacement project. She wrote,
“Light rail has been rejected – repeatedly – by voters in Southwest Washington by overwhelming margins. Whatever IBR officials see as the merits of light rail, they must be able to demonstrate that the transit component of the project is supported by the citizens who will use and pay for it. There is no such evidence that supersedes multiple votes of the people, which are the most fundamental demonstrations of community will,”
Who is Perz really working for? What corporation in lobbing her to push for a light rail no one wants? We don’t need to go further in debt with her overspending. The taxpayers have to pay it back.
Perez’s anti-Kent commercials are discussing…It makes her look really bad to pay for TV time lying about him. He is not angry. He is a pleasant man and knows the issues. States control abortions and he has changed his views for rape and incest. Perez is concerned about having the right to kill your baby, at any time. Where is the responsibility of the sexual partners? That should be a personal medical expense to the couple.

Perez didn’t tell the public, “Those who took the covid 19 jabs will have a hard time to conceiving.” Women are probably sterile or can’t carry a baby full term. Miscarriages are way up. Many babies die right after birth or born with birth defects, because of the depopulation jabs.

Why isn’t Perz doing something to stop fluoridation in WA? It was the Biden/ Harris admin who delayed the findings. This SF lawsuit was over in February this year. She should represent the voters in her area. Protect the borders and Americans. Stop drugs and illegal invasion. Stop the poisonous jabs. Make America Healthy again.

Breast Cancer awareness isn’t celebrated in Clark County, because the schools promote Trans to cut their breast off. Is this the Twight zone?
