I’m writing to urge readers to vote yes on Propositions 12 & 13 for Ridgefield Schools. Our children are our most precious resource, and it’s time to invest in them. Strong schools and strong communities have always gone hand in hand. We are so lucky to be in a district that has proven their fiscal responsibility repeatedly in audits, so we can rest assured our investment will be well utilized.

Our experience in Ridgefield sports (football, soccer), and activities (knowledge bowl) has increased engagement and expanded the school experience for my children and many others around them. The guidance and encouragement received from the coaches we have interacted with is irreplicable.
We need prop 12 to pass to ensure we can maintain these wonderful programs and connections. It’s also necessary to fund so many other needs and programs, including those for our early learners and special needs students, as well as helping to fund our beloved Ridgefield Family Resource Center. Prop 13 is just as important.
My kids are in middle and high school respectively now, but the need for a new elementary school has been critical since they were little and attending South Ridge. The number of kids there has grown exponentially since then. It is absolutely essential that Ridgefield comes together to get this school built for our kids and our community.
I have been so impressed to see a district so open to having discussions with everyone from its biggest supporters to its harshest critics. They have put genuine effort into giving us a proposal that reflects a streamlined, collaborative approach based on these conversations. If you have had time to be part of these conversations, you know how genuine the people working on this truly are, and how much work they have put into making this proposition one that could obtain support from a broad variety of Ridgefield residents. We could not ask for better leadership. It brings joy to my heart to see so many wonderful people coming together for our children. So together for Ridgefield – Vote yes on Propositions 12 and 13.

It’s not as dire as she states. No, it doesn’t. If this fails, they can submit a more modest levy proposal this year. In fact, they have a few opportunities to do so.
Also, shoveling money cash into our current systems is preventing our kids from receiving an excellent education rather than the declining and woke system we have now.
Exactly Rob! The schools academical scores are dismal. Parents are pulling their kids out of public-school indoctrination camps in record numbers. I used to always vote for school levies. That has ended until the school boards get their acts together and start listening to parents. Teachers, you are NOT the best judge of what’s good for the children. Parents First!
