The motorcycle rider was pronounced deceased at the scene
VANCOUVER – On Thursday (June 29) at about 6:55 a.m., Vancouver Police responded to the 10400 block of NE Fourth Plain Blvd. for a vehicle collision involving a truck and a motorcycle.
The investigation indicates the motorcycle was traveling westbound on NE Fourth Plain, and the Ford F-150 was traveling eastbound on NE Fourth Plain. The driver of the truck was making a left (northbound) turn into a parking lot and did not see the motorcyclist before beginning to turn. The motorcycle hit the front passenger side of the truck.
The motorcycle rider was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Indications are the motorcycle was traveling an estimated 30 mph over the speed limit. Excessive speed is a causing factor in the crash. The driver of the truck cooperated with the investigation and was not impaired.
The Vancouver Police Department Traffic Unit is continuing the investigation.
