Spencer James Duran, 32, of Vancouver, was booked into the Clark County Jail on one count of Assault 1
A Vancouver man was transported to an area hospital late Saturday night with wounds suffered in a stabbing at a Halloween party in Hazel Dell.
On Saturday (Oct. 29) at about 10:44 p.m., Clark County Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a disturbance with a weapon at 10419 NE 25th Place. The 9-1-1 caller stated a subject had shown up to a party at this location and stabbed another subject. The stabbing suspect was then subdued by other partygoers.
At 10:47 p.m., a Clark County Sheriff’s sergeant arrived at the scene and entered the house, which he described as a chaotic scene. The suspect was being held down by partygoers. The victim was bleeding profusely from a large and deep laceration, and other partygoers were shaken and emotional.
Once inside, the sergeant immediately handcuffed the suspect, who was still resisting and trying to break free. The sergeant observed attempts had been made to stop the bleeding to the victim’s wound, but further immediate care was needed. The sergeant used a tourniquet on the victim’s leg to help stop the bleeding.
As more deputies arrived at the location, the suspect was secured in the back of a patrol car and contact was made with other partygoers. Deputies located another person with a severe laceration to her foot. Deputies utilized a tourniquet and trauma dressing to control the bleeding, while waiting for paramedics. It was later determined that this patient’s injury was the result of being trampled during the scuffle with the suspect.
Detectives from the Tactical Detective Unit and the Major Crimes Unit were called to the location to take over the investigation. There were several people at this party and detailed interviews have not been completed with everyone.
Spencer James Duran, 32, of Vancouver, was booked into the Clark County Jail on one count of Assault 1. More charges may be filed later.
The stabbing victim, Andrew Parks, 49, of Vancouver, was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
This is an active investigation.
