
Three people were displaced and a dog was moved to safety by Vancouver firefighters
Three people were displaced from two apartment units in a Saturday fire at the Regency Apartments in Vancouver.
At 5:12 p.m. Saturday (Jan. 9), the Vancouver Fire Department responded to the report of a fire at 11301 SE 10th St. in Vancouver. Firefighters responded and arrived at the three-story apartment building with a fire in the middle apartment. Some residents were alerted to danger from functional smoke detectors.
Initial crews found the fire was controlled by the building’s sprinkler system. Engine companies searched for fire extensions and found none. Once the building was deemed safe from fire their efforts turned to water mitigation and property preservation.
No one was injured. Vancouver Fire had nine suppression units on scene. The Vancouver Fire Marshal’s office was on scene to investigate.
