Several farms about to open for family fun tradition
Some farms are opening Saturday for folks looking to pick their own fruits, while other farms are planning to open as soon as blueberry season arrives in Clark County.
Local farms have been opening their fields for decades, inviting the public to enjoy fruit to make smoothies, desserts, yogurt, ice cream, jam, and more. Options vary from U-Pick the fruit, to already picked berries for sale, or berries to be delivered.
Each farm has different requirements for its customers. Also, weather can change hours of operation. It is a good idea to check the farm’s website or call ahead before venturing to the farm.
Some farms accept cash or checks only and do not have digital payment systems. Some provide containers for free, while others ask visitors to supply their own take-home containers. Also, on hot days, visitors might want to get to the fields early and be prepared to protect from the sun.
Farms expected to open Saturday, July 1:
