No surviving animals were found inside the Vancouver home
Two adults were transported to an area hospital after a house fire in Vancouver this morning.
On Wednesday (April 12) at about 7:15 a.m., the Vancouver Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 3501 N. Street. The first-arriving fire engine found heavy fire coming from the rear of the house and quickly deployed a hose line to attack the fire.

Residents of the home told crews everyone was out but there were still several cats and a dog inside. Crews worked quickly to knock down the fire and search for pets but unfortunately no surviving animals were found inside.

In total, there were six fire engines, a ladder truck and two battalion chiefs dispatched to the scene. The Vancouver Fire Department was assisted by Clark County Fire District 6. American Medical Response ambulances responded to the scene and transported two adult occupants to the hospital.
The Vancouver Fire Marshal’s Office is investigating the cause.
