Emergency Medical Services Property Tax Levy in the city of Camas passes
The school bond proposal in the Ridgefield School District is failing in the updated results of the April 23 special election provided by the Clark County Elections Department Wednesday.
Proposition 10, which would allocate $70 million of funds to build a new elementary school and improvements to Ridgefield High School in addition to other facility improvements in the district, received 5,464 yes votes, or 58.87 percent. It requires a supermajority of 60 percent for approval. The no votes were 3,817 or 41.13 percent.
If Proposition 10 passes, Proposition 11 would need a supermajority approval by voters to allocate $120 million for the construction of a new intermediate/middle school campus and other improvements throughout the district. Proposition 11 has received 4,707 yes votes, or 50.95 percent, and 4,532 no votes, or 49.05 percent.
According to the Clark County Elections Department website, there were 2,800 ballots left to be counted after Tuesday’s initial numbers were released, of which approximately 1,800 were believed to be in the Ridgefield School District.
City of Camas
In the city of Camas, it appears voters are approving Proposition 3, an Emergency Medical Services Property Tax Levy that would renew the current EMS Levy for a period of six consecutive years beginning in 2025. It would collect a general tax on taxable property within the city, in an amount not to exceed $0.46 per $1,000.00 of assessed valuation of such property.
Proposition No. 3 has received 3,401 yes votes, or 75.83 percent, and 1,084 no votes, or 24.17 percent.
