
District seeking applications for replacement
Emily Enquist, Director of District 1 and currently the longest-tenured member of Ridgefield School District’s Board of Directors, submitted her resignation at the Regular Board of Directors meeting on September 10th. Her final meeting serving on the board will be Tue., Oct. 8.
“I am so grateful and honored to have been able to serve the Ridgefield School District,” said Enquist. “This was not an easy decision to make – it was a family decision. While there is no perfect time to step away, this is the right time for me and my family. Being able to serve my community in this role has meant so much to me. I am so grateful for all of the relationships, and I will continue to support Ridgefield Schools in any possible way that I can because I love this community.”
The district is now seeking applications from those interested in being appointed to serve the remainder of Enquist’s elected term. The District 1 position will also be up for election in November 2025.
To be eligible for appointment to the Ridgefield School District Board of Directors, a candidate shall:
- Be a citizen of the United States and a resident of the State of Washington
- Be a resident and qualified voter in the School District
- Reside in the Director District boundaries he/she represents

“It has been an honor to serve with Emily,” said Brett Jones, president of the board. “Over the years, I have leaned on Emily and her experience to help guide us through the path of learning this job. She has served the community and the Ridgefield School District well, and she will be missed!”
“On behalf of everyone at the district, I just want to say thank you,” said Superintendent Dr. Jenny Rodriquez. “Emily has gone above and beyond for this community and this district, and it has been a pleasure working with and getting to know her.”
A brief reception to honor Enquist will be held immediately preceding the Oct/ 8 Board meeting, at 4:30 p.m. in the Columbia Assembly Room at the Ridgefield Administrative and Civic Center.
