RIDGEFIELD – On Wednesday (Feb. 8) at about 3:19 p.m., an incident took place at the Ridgefield Outdoor Recreation Complex (RORC), located at 3101 S. Hillhurst Road.
A Ridgefield High School student was assaulted and sustained serious injuries while walking across the parking lot at the RORC, shortly after school let out. The student was transported via ambulance to the hospital and is expected to make a full recovery. The Ridgefield Police Department responded immediately and is investigating.
The suspect is described as a male, early 20s, medium build. He is associated with an Oregon plated, older 4-door silver sedan. A second subject, description unknown, was in the passenger seat of the suspect vehicle at the time of the assault.
While the investigation is on-going, the Ridgefield Police Department believes this was an isolated, targeted incident between individuals, and this is no ongoing threat to the community.
This case is actively being investigated and the Ridgefield Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance to identify the suspect(s) involved.
