Julie and Bill Reiersgaard donate $5 million to support caregiver education and new equipment
VANCOUVER – A special reception and blessing were held in the Health Education Center (HEC) at PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center recently to honor Julie and Bill Reiersgaard and their family for their generous gift of $5 million. This outstanding gift will support caregiver education and purchase much needed equipment. In recognition of their gift, the HEC has been renamed the Julie and William Reiersgaard Health Education Center.
Julie and Bill Reiersgaard and their family have had their lives touched by the care and concern of the PeaceHealth staff. When the time was right for them to make a significant philanthropic gift, they knew they wanted to give back to PeaceHealth Southwest in gratitude and appreciation for the passion and dedication of its caregivers.
“This gift will allow us the ability to continue to engage in innovative models of care and the development of our caregivers as healthcare is being reimagined at PeaceHealth Southwest,” shares Chief Nursing Officer,Tanya Shanks Connors. “We look forward to the impact this gift can make on the care of our community and also serve as a path forward for all of us.”
PeaceHealth expresses its deep gratitude to the Reiersgaard family and celebrates the new name of the HEC, now referred to as the Julie and William Reiersgaard Health Education Center.
